Awin
Awin offers solutions for marketing products and services on the Internet. Its essence is a rapidly growing worldwide network of more than one million sales partners. Awin is a subsidiary of Axel Springer and is a target for boycott.
Axel Springer
As part of the Axel Springer portfolio and a subsidiary, Awin and all its brands must adhere to the Axel Springer Pledge. This pledge enforces mandatory "values" for the company and all its employees, including supporting of Israel, endorsing capitalism and free markets, and strengthening ties with the United States.
Axel Springer and its CEO are known for directly supporting Zionism, and they do not tolerate any employee who rejects their pledge or Zionist ideals. There have been instances where employees in their news-tech sector were pressured to control narratives about Palestine.
Axel Springer’s news agencies, such as WELT and Bild, have unapologetically used their platforms to spread anti-migrant and Islamophobic rhetoric. As a result, Axel Springer and all its subsidiaries are targets for boycotts.
Axel Springer has historically invested in various startups to expand its influence and business empire. Notable examples include price comparison platforms such as KaufDA and Idealo. The company also operates the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator, which focuses on early-stage investments in startups like N26 and Blogfoster. However, the current relationships between these companies and Axel Springer are not always transparent—additionally, Awin partners with the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator.
