Hotwire
Hotwire is an online travel agency that offers discounted bookings for flights, hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages. Hotwire is part of the Expedia Group and a target for boycotts.
Isreal and Apartheid
Hotwire is owned by Expedia Group, which is listed in the UN Database of businesses profiting from illegal Israeli settlements. This database, published in February 2020, resulted from an independent investigation into how these settlements violate Palestinian rights in occupied territories, including East Jerusalem, and their effects on the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of the Palestinian people.
By continuing to operate in occupied Palestinian territories, Hotwire and its parent company, Expedia Group, are legitimizing illegal occupation, profiting from human rights violations, including the displacement and exploitation of Palestinian resources. They have undermined peace efforts, ignoring the UN report for years, choosing profits over principles, Contributing to discrimination, supporting a system of inequality, and eroding Palestinian rights. Their operations contribute to the systematic denial of Palestinian civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
